القلم

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. نٓۚ وَٱلۡقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسۡطُرُونَ

   ✦1

   Nun. By the pen and what they inscribe

   നൂന്‍- പേനയും അവര്‍ എഴുതുന്നതും തന്നെയാണ സത്യം

2. مَآ أَنتَ بِنِعۡمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجۡنُونٖ

   ✦2

   You are not, [O Muhammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman

   നിന്‍റെ രക്ഷിതാവിന്‍റെ അനുഗ്രഹം കൊണ്ട് നീ ഒരു ഭ്രാന്തനല്ല

3. وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجۡرًا غَيۡرَ مَمۡنُونٖ

   ✦3

   And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted

   തീര്‍ച്ചയായും നിനക്ക് മുറിഞ്ഞ് പോകാത്ത പ്രതിഫലമുണ്ട്‌

4. وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٖ

   ✦4

   And indeed, you are of a great moral character

   തീര്‍ച്ചയായും നീ മഹത്തായ സ്വഭാവത്തിലാകുന്നു

5. فَسَتُبۡصِرُ وَيُبۡصِرُونَ

   ✦5

   So you will see and they will see

   ആകയാല്‍ വഴിയെ നീ കണ്ടറിയും; അവരും കണ്ടറിയും

6. بِأَييِّكُمُ ٱلۡمَفۡتُونُ

   ✦6

   Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil]

   നിങ്ങളില്‍ ആരാണ് കുഴപ്പത്തിലകപ്പെട്ടവനെന്ന്‌

7. إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِٱلۡمُهۡتَدِينَ

   ✦7

   Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided

   തീര്‍ച്ചയായും നിന്‍റെ രക്ഷിതാവ് അവന്‍റെ മാര്‍ഗം വിട്ടു പിഴച്ചുപോയവരെപ്പറ്റി നല്ലവണ്ണം അറിയുന്നവനാകുന്നു. സന്‍മാര്‍ഗം പ്രാപിച്ചവരെപ്പറ്റിയും അവന്‍ നല്ലവണ്ണം അറിയുന്നവനാകുന്നു

8. فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ

   ✦8

   Then do not obey the deniers

   അതിനാല്‍ സത്യനിഷേധികളെ നീ അനുസരിക്കരുത്‌

9. وَدُّواْ لَوۡ تُدۡهِنُ فَيُدۡهِنُونَ

   ✦9

   They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you]

   നീ വഴങ്ങികൊടുത്തിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ അവര്‍ക്കും വഴങ്ങിത്തരാമായിരുന്നു എന്നവര്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു

10. وَلَا تُطِعۡ كُلَّ حَلَّافٖ مَّهِينٍ

    ✦10

    And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer

    അധികമായി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവനും, നീചനുമായിട്ടുള്ള യാതൊരാളെയും നീ അനുസരിച്ചു പോകരുത്‌

11. هَمَّازٖ مَّشَّآءِۭ بِنَمِيمٖ

    ✦11

    [And] scorner, going about with malicious gossip

    കുത്തുവാക്ക് പറയുന്നവനും ഏഷണിയുമായി നടക്കുന്നവനുമായ

12. مَّنَّاعٖ لِّلۡخَيۡرِ مُعۡتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ

    ✦12

    A preventer of good, transgressing and sinful

    നന്‍മക്ക് തടസ്സം നില്‍ക്കുന്നവനും, അതിക്രമിയും മഹാപാപിയുമായ

13. عُتُلِّۭ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ زَنِيمٍ

    ✦13

    Cruel, moreover, and an illegitimate pretender

    ക്രൂരനും അതിനു പുറമെ ദുഷ്കീര്‍ത്തി നേടിയവനുമായ

14. أَن كَانَ ذَا مَالٖ وَبَنِينَ

    ✦14

    Because he is a possessor of wealth and children

    അവന്‍ സ്വത്തും സന്താനങ്ങളും ഉള്ളവനായി എന്നതിനാല്‍ (അവന്‍ അത്തരം നിലപാട് സ്വീകരിച്ചു)

15. إِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

    ✦15

    When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples

    നമ്മുടെ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തങ്ങള്‍ അവന്ന് വായിച്ചുകേള്‍പിക്കപ്പെട്ടാല്‍ അവന്‍ പറയും; പൂര്‍വ്വികന്‍മാരുടെ പുരാണകഥകള്‍ എന്ന്‌

16. سَنَسِمُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلۡخُرۡطُومِ

    ✦16

    We will brand him upon the snout

    വഴിയെ (അവന്‍റെ) തുമ്പിക്കൈ മേല്‍ നാം അവന്ന് അടയാളം വെക്കുന്നതാണ്‌

17. إِنَّا بَلَوۡنَٰهُمۡ كَمَا بَلَوۡنَآ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ إِذۡ أَقۡسَمُواْ لَيَصۡرِمُنَّهَا مُصۡبِحِينَ

    ✦17

    Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning

    ആ തോട്ടക്കാരെ നാം പരീക്ഷിച്ചത് പോലെ തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അവരെയും നാം പരീക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്‌. പ്രഭാതവേളയില്‍ ആ തോട്ടത്തിലെ പഴങ്ങള്‍ അവര്‍ പറിച്ചെടുക്കുമെന്ന് അവര്‍ സത്യം ചെയ്ത സന്ദര്‍ഭം

18. وَلَا يَسۡتَثۡنُونَ

    ✦18

    Without making exception

    അവര്‍ (യാതൊന്നും) ഒഴിവാക്കി പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല

19. فَطَافَ عَلَيۡهَا طَآئِفٞ مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَهُمۡ نَآئِمُونَ

    ✦19

    So there came upon the garden an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep

    എന്നിട്ട് അവര്‍ ഉറങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കെ നിന്‍റെ രക്ഷിതാവിങ്കല്‍ നിന്നുള്ള ഒരു ശിക്ഷ ആ തോട്ടത്തെ ബാധിച്ചു

20. فَأَصۡبَحَتۡ كَٱلصَّرِيمِ

    ✦20

    And it became as though reaped

    അങ്ങനെ അത് മുറിച്ചെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടത് പോലെ ആയിത്തീര്‍ന്നു

21. فَتَنَادَوۡاْ مُصۡبِحِينَ

    ✦21

    And they called one another at morning

    അങ്ങനെ പ്രഭാതവേളയില്‍ അവര്‍ പരസ്പരം വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു

22. أَنِ ٱغۡدُواْ عَلَىٰ حَرۡثِكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰرِمِينَ

    ✦22

    [Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit

    നിങ്ങള്‍ പറിച്ചെടുക്കാന്‍ പോകുകയാണെങ്കില്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ കൃഷിസ്ഥലത്തേക്ക് നിങ്ങള്‍ കാലത്തുതന്നെ പുറപ്പെടുക

23. فَٱنطَلَقُواْ وَهُمۡ يَتَخَٰفَتُونَ

    ✦23

    So they set out, while lowering their voices

    അവര്‍ അന്യോന്യം മന്ത്രിച്ചു കൊണ്ടു പോയി

24. أَن لَّا يَدۡخُلَنَّهَا ٱلۡيَوۡمَ عَلَيۡكُم مِّسۡكِينٞ

    ✦24

    [Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person

    ഇന്ന് ആ തോട്ടത്തില്‍ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്ത് ഒരു സാധുവും കടന്നു വരാന്‍ ഇടയാവരുത് എന്ന്‌

25. وَغَدَوۡاْ عَلَىٰ حَرۡدٖ قَٰدِرِينَ

    ✦25

    And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able

    അവര്‍ (സാധുക്കളെ) തടസ്സപ്പെടുത്താന്‍ കഴിവുള്ളവരായിക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നെ കാലത്ത് പുറപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു

26. فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهَا قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا لَضَآلُّونَ

    ✦26

    But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost

    അങ്ങനെ അത് (തോട്ടം) കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു: തീര്‍ച്ചയായും നാം പിഴവു പറ്റിയവരാകുന്നു

27. بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ

    ✦27

    Rather, we have been deprived

    അല്ല, നാം നഷ്ടം നേരിട്ടവരാകുന്നു

28. قَالَ أَوۡسَطُهُمۡ أَلَمۡ أَقُل لَّكُمۡ لَوۡلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ

    ✦28

    The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allah]

    അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ മദ്ധ്യനിലപാടുകാരനായ ഒരാള്‍ പറഞ്ഞു: ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോട് പറഞ്ഞില്ലേ? എന്താണ് നിങ്ങള്‍ അല്ലാഹുവെ പ്രകീര്‍ത്തിക്കാതിരുന്നത്‌

29. قَالُواْ سُبۡحَٰنَ رَبِّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

    ✦29

    They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers

    അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു: നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവ് എത്രയോ പരിശുദ്ധന്‍! തീര്‍ച്ചയായും നാം അക്രമികളായിരിക്കുന്നു

30. فَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ يَتَلَٰوَمُونَ

    ✦30

    Then they approached one another, blaming each other

    അങ്ങനെ പരസ്പരം കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് അവരില്‍ ചിലര്‍ ചിലരുടെ നേര്‍ക്ക് തിരിഞ്ഞു

31. قَالُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَٰغِينَ

    ✦31

    They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors

    അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു: നമ്മുടെ നാശമേ! തീര്‍ച്ചയായും നാം അതിക്രമകാരികളായിരിക്കുന്നു

32. عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبۡدِلَنَا خَيۡرٗا مِّنۡهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَٰغِبُونَ

    ✦32

    Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous

    നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവ് അതിനെക്കാള്‍ ഉത്തമമായത് നമുക്ക് പകരം തന്നേക്കാം. തീര്‍ച്ചയായും നാം നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവിങ്കലേക്ക് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു ചെല്ലുന്നവരാകുന്നു

33. كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡعَذَابُۖ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ أَكۡبَرُۚ لَوۡ كَانُواْ يَعۡلَمُونَ

    ✦33

    Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew

    അപ്രകാരമാകുന്നു ശിക്ഷ. പരലോകശിക്ഷയാവട്ടെ കൂടുതല്‍ ഗൌരവമുള്ളതാകുന്നു. അവര്‍ അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍

34. إِنَّ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

    ✦34

    Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure

    തീര്‍ച്ചയായും സൂക്ഷ്മത പാലിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്ക് അവരുടെ രക്ഷിതാവിങ്കല്‍ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ സ്വര്‍ഗത്തോപ്പുകളുണ്ട്‌

35. أَفَنَجۡعَلُ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ كَٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

    ✦35

    Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals

    അപ്പോള്‍ മുസ്ലിംകളെ നാം കുറ്റവാളികളെപോലെ ആക്കുമോ

36. مَا لَكُمۡ كَيۡفَ تَحۡكُمُونَ

    ✦36

    What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge

    നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കെന്തു പറ്റി? നിങ്ങള്‍ എങ്ങനെയാണ് വിധികല്‍പിക്കുന്നത്‌

37. أَمۡ لَكُمۡ كِتَٰبٞ فِيهِ تَدۡرُسُونَ

    ✦37

    Or do you have a scripture in which you learn

    അതല്ല, നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കു വല്ല ഗ്രന്ഥവും കിട്ടിയിട്ട് നിങ്ങളതില്‍ പഠനം നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണോ

38. إِنَّ لَكُمۡ فِيهِ لَمَا تَخَيَّرُونَ

    ✦38

    That indeed for you is whatever you choose

    നിങ്ങള്‍ (യഥേഷ്ടം) തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അതില്‍ (ആ ഗ്രന്ഥത്തില്‍) വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടോ

39. أَمۡ لَكُمۡ أَيۡمَٰنٌ عَلَيۡنَا بَٰلِغَةٌ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّ لَكُمۡ لَمَا تَحۡكُمُونَ

    ✦39

    Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge

    അതല്ല, ഉയിര്‍ത്തെഴുന്നേല്‍പിന്‍റെ നാളുവരെ എത്തുന്ന - നിങ്ങള്‍ വിധിക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കായിരിക്കുമെന്നതിനുള്ള-വല്ല കരാറുകളും നിങ്ങളോട് നാം ബാധ്യതയേറ്റതായി ഉണ്ടോ

40. سَلۡهُمۡ أَيُّهُم بِذَٰلِكَ زَعِيمٌ

    ✦40

    Ask them which of them, for that [claim], is responsible

    അവരില്‍ ആരാണ് ആ കാര്യത്തിന് ഉത്തരവാദിത്തം ഏല്‍ക്കാനുള്ളത് എന്ന് അവരോട് ചോദിച്ചു നോക്കുക

41. أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شُرَكَآءُ فَلۡيَأۡتُواْ بِشُرَكَآئِهِمۡ إِن كَانُواْ صَٰدِقِينَ

    ✦41

    Or do they have partners? Then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful

    അതല്ല, അവര്‍ക്ക് വല്ല പങ്കുകാരുമുണ്ടോ? എങ്കില്‍ അവരുടെ ആ പങ്കുകാരെ അവര്‍ കൊണ്ടുവരട്ടെ. അവര്‍ സത്യവാന്‍മാരാണെങ്കില്‍

42. يَوۡمَ يُكۡشَفُ عَن سَاقٖ وَيُدۡعَوۡنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ

    ✦42

    The Day the shin will be uncovered and they are invited to prostration but the disbelievers will not be able

    കണങ്കാല്‍ വെളിവാക്കപ്പെടുന്ന (ഭയങ്കരമായ) ഒരു ദിവസത്തെ നിങ്ങള്‍ ഓര്‍ക്കുക. സുജൂദ് ചെയ്യാന്‍ (അന്ന്‌) അവര്‍ ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെടും. അപ്പോള്‍ അവര്‍ക്കതിന് സാധിക്കുകയില്ല

43. خَٰشِعَةً أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ تَرۡهَقُهُمۡ ذِلَّةٞۖ وَقَدۡ كَانُواْ يُدۡعَوۡنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ وَهُمۡ سَٰلِمُونَ

    ✦43

    Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound

    അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകള്‍ കീഴ്പോട്ട് താഴ്ന്നിരിക്കും. നിന്ദ്യത അവരെ ആവരണം ചെയ്യും. അവര്‍ സുരക്ഷിതരായിരുന്ന സമയത്ത് സുജൂദിനായി അവര്‍ ക്ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു

44. فَذَرۡنِي وَمَن يُكَذِّبُ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِۖ سَنَسۡتَدۡرِجُهُم مِّنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

    ✦44

    So leave Me, [O Muhammad], with [the matter of] whoever denies the Qur'an. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they do not know

    ആകയാല്‍ എന്നെയും ഈ വര്‍ത്തമാനം നിഷേധിച്ചു കളയുന്നവരെയും കുടി വിട്ടേക്കുക. അവര്‍ അറിയാത്ത വിധത്തിലൂടെ നാം അവരെ പടിപടിയായി പിടികൂടിക്കൊള്ളാം

45. وَأُمۡلِي لَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ كَيۡدِي مَتِينٌ

    ✦45

    And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm

    ഞാന്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക് നീട്ടിയിട്ട് കൊടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. തീര്‍ച്ചയായും എന്‍റെ തന്ത്രം ശക്തമാകുന്നു

46. أَمۡ تَسۡـَٔلُهُمۡ أَجۡرٗا فَهُم مِّن مَّغۡرَمٖ مُّثۡقَلُونَ

    ✦46

    Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down

    അതല്ല, നീ അവരോട് വല്ല പ്രതിഫലവും ചോദിച്ചിട്ട് അവര്‍ കടബാധയാല്‍ ഞെരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുകയാണോ

47. أَمۡ عِندَهُمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبُ فَهُمۡ يَكۡتُبُونَ

    ✦47

    Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down

    അതല്ല, അവരുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ അദൃശ്യജ്ഞാനമുണ്ടായിട്ട് അവര്‍ എഴുതി എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണോ

48. فَٱصۡبِرۡ لِحُكۡمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُن كَصَاحِبِ ٱلۡحُوتِ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ وَهُوَ مَكۡظُومٞ

    ✦48

    Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed

    അതുകൊണ്ട് നിന്‍റെ രക്ഷിതാവിന്‍റെ വിധി കാത്ത് നീ ക്ഷമിച്ചു കൊള്ളുക. നീ മത്സ്യത്തിന്‍റെ ആളെപ്പോലെ (യൂനുസ് നബിയെപ്പോലെ) ആകരുത്‌. അദ്ദേഹം ദുഃഖനിമഗ്നായികൊണ്ട് വിളിച്ചു പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിച്ച സന്ദര്‍ഭം

49. لَّوۡلَآ أَن تَدَٰرَكَهُۥ نِعۡمَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ لَنُبِذَ بِٱلۡعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ مَذۡمُومٞ

    ✦49

    If not that a favor from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured

    അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ രക്ഷിതാവിങ്കല്‍ നിന്നുള്ള അനുഗ്രഹം അദ്ദേഹത്തെ വീണ്ടെടുത്തിട്ടില്ലായിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ അദ്ദേഹം ആ പാഴ്ഭൂമിയില്‍ ആക്ഷേപാര്‍ഹനായിക്കൊണ്ട് പുറന്തള്ളപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു

50. فَٱجۡتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَجَعَلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

    ✦50

    And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous

    അപ്പോള്‍ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ രക്ഷിതാവ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുകയും എന്നിട്ട് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ സജ്ജനങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു

51. وَإِن يَكَادُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَيُزۡلِقُونَكَ بِأَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡ لَمَّا سَمِعُواْ ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَمَجۡنُونٞ

    ✦51

    And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad

    സത്യനിഷേധികള്‍ ഈ ഉല്‍ബോധനം കേള്‍ക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകള്‍കൊണ്ട് നോക്കിയിട്ട് നീ ഇടറി വീഴുമാറാക്കുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യും. തീര്‍ച്ചയായും ഇവന്‍ ഒരു ഭ്രാന്തന്‍ തന്നെയാണ് എന്നവര്‍ പറയും

52. وَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرٞ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

    ✦52

    But it is not except a reminder to the worlds

    ഇത് ലോകര്‍ക്കുള്ള ഒരു ഉല്‍ബോധനമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നുമല്ല
