المعارج

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. سَأَلَ سَآئِلُۢ بِعَذَابٖ وَاقِعٖ

   ✦1

   A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen

   സംഭവിക്കാനിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ശിക്ഷയെ ഒരു ചോദ്യകര്‍ത്താവ് അതാ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു

2. لِّلۡكَٰفِرِينَ لَيۡسَ لَهُۥ دَافِعٞ

   ✦2

   To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer

   സത്യനിഷേധികള്‍ക്ക് അത് തടുക്കുവാന്‍ ആരുമില്ല

3. مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ذِي ٱلۡمَعَارِجِ

   ✦3

   [It is] from Allah, owner of the ways of ascent

   കയറിപ്പോകുന്ന വഴികളുടെ അധിപനായ അല്ലാഹുവിങ്കല്‍ നിന്ന് വരുന്ന (ശിക്ഷയെ)

4. تَعۡرُجُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ إِلَيۡهِ فِي يَوۡمٖ كَانَ مِقۡدَارُهُۥ خَمۡسِينَ أَلۡفَ سَنَةٖ

   ✦4

   The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years

   അമ്പതിനായിരം കൊല്ലത്തിന്‍റെ അളവുള്ളതായ ഒരു ദിവസത്തില്‍ മലക്കുകളും ആത്മാവും അവങ്കലേക്ക് കയറിപ്പോകുന്നു

5. فَٱصۡبِرۡ صَبۡرٗا جَمِيلًا

   ✦5

   So be patient with gracious patience

   എന്നാല്‍ (നബിയേ,) നീ ഭംഗിയായ ക്ഷമ കൈക്കൊള്ളുക

6. إِنَّهُمۡ يَرَوۡنَهُۥ بَعِيدٗا

   ✦6

   Indeed, they see it [as] distant

   തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അവര്‍ അതിനെ വിദൂരമായി കാണുന്നു

7. وَنَرَىٰهُ قَرِيبٗا

   ✦7

   But We see it [as] near

   നാം അതിനെ അടുത്തതായും കാണുന്നു

8. يَوۡمَ تَكُونُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ كَٱلۡمُهۡلِ

   ✦8

   On the Day the sky will be like murky oil

   ആകാശം ഉരുകിയ ലോഹം പോലെ ആകുന്ന ദിവസം

9. وَتَكُونُ ٱلۡجِبَالُ كَٱلۡعِهۡنِ

   ✦9

   And the mountains will be like wool

   പര്‍വ്വതങ്ങള്‍ കടഞ്ഞരോമം പോലെയും

10. وَلَا يَسۡـَٔلُ حَمِيمٌ حَمِيمٗا

    ✦10

    And no friend will ask [anything of] a friend

    ഒരുറ്റ ബന്ധുവും മറ്റൊരു ഉറ്റബന്ധുവിനോട് (അന്ന്‌) യാതൊന്നും ചോദിക്കുകയില്ല

11. يُبَصَّرُونَهُمۡۚ يَوَدُّ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُ لَوۡ يَفۡتَدِي مِنۡ عَذَابِ يَوۡمِئِذِۭ بِبَنِيهِ

    ✦11

    They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children

    അവര്‍ക്ക് അന്യോന്യം കാണിക്കപ്പെടും. തന്‍റെ മക്കളെ പ്രായശ്ചിത്തമായി നല്‍കി കൊണ്ട് ആ ദിവസത്തെ ശിക്ഷയില്‍ നിന്ന് മോചനം നേടാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ എന്ന് കുറ്റവാളി ആഗ്രഹിക്കും

12. وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَأَخِيهِ

    ✦12

    And his wife and his brother

    തന്‍റെ ഭാര്യയെയും സഹോദരനെയും

13. وَفَصِيلَتِهِ ٱلَّتِي تُـٔۡوِيهِ

    ✦13

    And his nearest kindred who shelter him

    തനിക്ക് അഭയം നല്‍കിയിരുന്ന തന്‍റെ ബന്ധുക്കളെയും

14. وَمَن فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعٗا ثُمَّ يُنجِيهِ

    ✦14

    And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him

    ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള മുഴുവന്‍ ആളുകളെയും. എന്നിട്ട് അതവനെ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ എന്ന്‌

15. كَلَّآۖ إِنَّهَا لَظَىٰ

    ✦15

    No! Indeed, it is the Flame [of Hell]

    സംശയം വേണ്ട, തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അത് ആളിക്കത്തുന്ന നരകമാകുന്നു

16. نَزَّاعَةٗ لِّلشَّوَىٰ

    ✦16

    A remover of exteriors

    തലയുടെ തൊലിയുരിച്ചു കളയുന്ന നരകാഗ്നി

17. تَدۡعُواْ مَنۡ أَدۡبَرَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

    ✦17

    It invites he who turned his back [on truth] and went away [from obedience]

    പിന്നോക്കം മാറുകയും, തിരിഞ്ഞുകളയുകയും ചെയ്തവരെ അത് ക്ഷണിക്കും

18. وَجَمَعَ فَأَوۡعَىٰٓ

    ✦18

    And collected [wealth] and hoarded

    ശേഖരിച്ചു സൂക്ഷിച്ചു വെച്ചവരെയും

19. ۞إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا

    ✦19

    Indeed, mankind was created anxious

    തീര്‍ച്ചയായും മനുഷ്യന്‍ സൃഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് അങ്ങേ അറ്റം അക്ഷമനായിക്കൊണ്ടാണ്‌

20. إِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ جَزُوعٗا

    ✦20

    When evil touches him, impatient

    അതായത് തിന്‍മ ബാധിച്ചാല്‍ പൊറുതികേട് കാണിക്കുന്നവനായി കൊണ്ടും

21. وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلۡخَيۡرُ مَنُوعًا

    ✦21

    And when good touches him, withholding [of it]

    നന്‍മ കൈവന്നാല്‍ തടഞ്ഞു വെക്കുന്നവനായികൊണ്ടും

22. إِلَّا ٱلۡمُصَلِّينَ

    ✦22

    Except the observers of prayer

    നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നവരൊഴികെ

23. ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمۡ دَآئِمُونَ

    ✦23

    Those who are constant in their prayer

    അതായത് തങ്ങളുടെ നമസ്കാരത്തില്‍ സ്ഥിരമായി നിഷ്ഠയുള്ളവര്‍

24. وَٱلَّذِينَ فِيٓ أَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ حَقّٞ مَّعۡلُومٞ

    ✦24

    And those within whose wealth is a known right

    തങ്ങളുടെ സ്വത്തുക്കളില്‍ നിര്‍ണിതമായ അവകാശം നല്‍കുന്നവരും

25. لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلۡمَحۡرُومِ

    ✦25

    For the petitioner and the deprived

    ചോദിച്ചു വരുന്നവന്നും ഉപജീവനം തടയപ്പെട്ടവന്നും

26. وَٱلَّذِينَ يُصَدِّقُونَ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

    ✦26

    And those who believe in the Day of Recompense

    പ്രതിഫലദിനത്തില്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവരും

27. وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنۡ عَذَابِ رَبِّهِم مُّشۡفِقُونَ

    ✦27

    And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord

    തങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവിന്‍റെ ശിക്ഷയെപറ്റി ഭയമുള്ളവരുമൊഴികെ

28. إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّهِمۡ غَيۡرُ مَأۡمُونٖ

    ✦28

    Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe

    തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അവരുടെ രക്ഷിതാവിന്‍റെ ശിക്ഷ (വരികയില്ലെന്ന്‌) സമാധാനപ്പെടാന്‍ പറ്റാത്തതാകുന്നു

29. وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ لِفُرُوجِهِمۡ حَٰفِظُونَ

    ✦29

    And those who guard their private parts

    തങ്ങളുടെ ഗുഹ്യാവയവങ്ങള്‍ കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവരും (ഒഴികെ)

30. إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزۡوَٰجِهِمۡ أَوۡ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُهُمۡ فَإِنَّهُمۡ غَيۡرُ مَلُومِينَ

    ✦30

    Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed

    തങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരുടെയോ, വലം കൈകള്‍ ഉടമപ്പെടുത്തിയവരുടെയോ കാര്യത്തിലൊഴികെ. തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അവര്‍ ആക്ഷേപമുക്തരാകുന്നു

31. فَمَنِ ٱبۡتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡعَادُونَ

    ✦31

    But whoever seeks beyond that, then they are the transgressors

    എന്നാല്‍ അതിലപ്പുറം ആരെങ്കിലും ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന പക്ഷം അത്തരക്കാര്‍ തന്നെയാകുന്നു അതിരുകവിയുന്നവര്‍

32. وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمۡ وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ رَٰعُونَ

    ✦32

    And those who are to their trusts and promises attentive

    തങ്ങളെ വിശ്വസിച്ചേല്‍പിച്ച കാര്യങ്ങളും തങ്ങളുടെ ഉടമ്പടികളും പാലിച്ചു പോരുന്നവരും

33. وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِشَهَٰدَٰتِهِمۡ قَآئِمُونَ

    ✦33

    And those who are in their testimonies upright

    തങ്ങളുടെ സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങള്‍ മുറപ്രകാരം നിര്‍വഹിക്കുന്നവരും

34. وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمۡ يُحَافِظُونَ

    ✦34

    And those who [carefully] maintain their prayer

    തങ്ങളുടെ നമസ്കാരങ്ങള്‍ നിഷ്ഠയോടെ നിര്‍വഹിക്കുന്നവരും (ഒഴികെ)

35. أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ مُّكۡرَمُونَ

    ✦35

    They will be in gardens, honored

    അത്തരക്കാര്‍ സ്വര്‍ഗത്തോപ്പുകളില്‍ ആദരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവരാകുന്നു

36. فَمَالِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ قِبَلَكَ مُهۡطِعِينَ

    ✦36

    So what is [the matter] with those who disbelieve, hastening [from] before you, [O Muhammad]

    അപ്പോള്‍ സത്യനിഷേധികള്‍ക്കെന്തു പറ്റി! അവര്‍ നിന്‍റെ നേരെ കഴുത്തു നീട്ടി വന്നിട്ട്‌

37. عَنِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ عِزِينَ

    ✦37

    [To sit] on [your] right and [your] left in separate groups

    വലത്തോട്ടും ഇടത്തോട്ടും കൂട്ടങ്ങളായി ചിതറിപോകുന്നു

38. أَيَطۡمَعُ كُلُّ ٱمۡرِيٕٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ أَن يُدۡخَلَ جَنَّةَ نَعِيمٖ

    ✦38

    Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure

    സുഖാനുഭൂതിയുടെ സ്വര്‍ഗത്തില്‍ താന്‍ പ്രവേശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടണമെന്ന് അവരില്‍ ഓരോ മനുഷ്യനും മോഹിക്കുന്നുണ്ടോ

39. كَلَّآۖ إِنَّا خَلَقۡنَٰهُم مِّمَّا يَعۡلَمُونَ

    ✦39

    No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know

    അതു വേണ്ട. തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അവര്‍ക്കറിയാവുന്നതില്‍ നിന്നാണ് അവരെ നാം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്‌

40. فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَ

    ✦40

    So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able

    എന്നാല്‍ ഉദയസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുടെയും അസ്തമയസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുടെയും രക്ഷിതാവിന്‍റെ പേരില്‍ ഞാന്‍ സത്യം ചെയ്തു പറയുന്നു: തീര്‍ച്ചയായും നാം കഴിവുള്ളനാണെന്ന്‌

41. عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ خَيۡرٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِينَ

    ✦41

    To replace them with better than them; and We are not to be outdone

    അവരെക്കാള്‍ നല്ലവരെ പകരം കൊണ്ടു വരാന്‍. നാം തോല്‍പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവനല്ല താനും

42. فَذَرۡهُمۡ يَخُوضُواْ وَيَلۡعَبُواْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُواْ يَوۡمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ

    ✦42

    So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised

    ആകയാല്‍ അവര്‍ക്ക് താക്കീത് നല്‍കപ്പെടുന്ന അവരുടെ ആ ദിവസത്തെ അവര്‍ കണ്ടുമുട്ടുന്നത് വരെ അവര്‍ തോന്നിവാസത്തില്‍ മുഴുകുകയും കളിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാന്‍ നീ അവരെ വിട്ടേക്കുക

43. يَوۡمَ يَخۡرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ سِرَاعٗا كَأَنَّهُمۡ إِلَىٰ نُصُبٖ يُوفِضُونَ

    ✦43

    The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening

    അതായത് അവര്‍ ഒരു നാട്ടക്കുറിയുടെ നേരെ ധൃതിപ്പെട്ട് പോകുന്നത് പോലെ ഖബ്‌റുകളില്‍ നിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോകുന്ന ദിവസം

44. خَٰشِعَةً أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ تَرۡهَقُهُمۡ ذِلَّةٞۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡيَوۡمُ ٱلَّذِي كَانُواْ يُوعَدُونَ

    ✦44

    Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised

    അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകള്‍ കീഴ്പോട്ട് താണിരിക്കും. അപമാനം അവരെ ആവരണം ചെയ്തിരിക്കും. അതാണ് അവര്‍ക്ക് താക്കീത് നല്‍കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ദിവസം
