المدثر

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُدَّثِّرُ

   ✦1

   O you who covers himself [with a garment]

   ഹേ, പുതച്ചു മൂടിയവനേ

2. قُمۡ فَأَنذِرۡ

   ✦2

   Arise and warn

   എഴുന്നേറ്റ് (ജനങ്ങളെ) താക്കീത് ചെയ്യുക

3. وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرۡ

   ✦3

   And your Lord glorify

   നിന്‍റെ രക്ഷിതാവിനെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തുകയും

4. وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرۡ

   ✦4

   And your clothing purify

   നിന്‍റെ വസ്ത്രങ്ങള്‍ ശുദ്ധിയാക്കുകയും

5. وَٱلرُّجۡزَ فَٱهۡجُرۡ

   ✦5

   And uncleanliness avoid

   പാപം വെടിയുകയും ചെയ്യുക

6. وَلَا تَمۡنُن تَسۡتَكۡثِرُ

   ✦6

   And do not confer favor to acquire more

   കൂടുതല്‍ നേട്ടം കൊതിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് നീ ഔദാര്യം ചെയ്യരുത്‌

7. وَلِرَبِّكَ فَٱصۡبِرۡ

   ✦7

   But for your Lord be patient

   നിന്‍റെ രക്ഷിതാവിനു വേണ്ടി നീ ക്ഷമ കൈക്കൊള്ളുക

8. فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي ٱلنَّاقُورِ

   ✦8

   And when the trumpet is blown

   എന്നാല്‍ കാഹളത്തില്‍ മുഴക്കപ്പെട്ടാല്‍

9. فَذَٰلِكَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَوۡمٌ عَسِيرٌ

   ✦9

   That Day will be a difficult day

   അന്ന് അത് ഒരു പ്രയാസകരമായ ദിവസമായിരിക്കും

10. عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ غَيۡرُ يَسِيرٖ

    ✦10

    For the disbelievers - not easy

    സത്യനിഷേധികള്‍ക്ക് എളുപ്പമുള്ളതല്ലാത്ത ഒരു ദിവസം

11. ذَرۡنِي وَمَنۡ خَلَقۡتُ وَحِيدٗا

    ✦11

    Leave Me with the one I created alone

    എന്നെയും ഞാന്‍ ഏകനായിക്കൊണ്ട് സൃഷ്ടിച്ച ഒരുത്തനെയും വിട്ടേക്കുക

12. وَجَعَلۡتُ لَهُۥ مَالٗا مَّمۡدُودٗا

    ✦12

    And to whom I granted extensive wealth

    അവന്ന് ഞാന്‍ സമൃദ്ധമായ സമ്പത്ത് ഉണ്ടാക്കി കൊടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു

13. وَبَنِينَ شُهُودٗا

    ✦13

    And children present [with him]

    സന്നദ്ധരായി നില്‍ക്കുന്ന സന്തതികളെയും

14. وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُۥ تَمۡهِيدٗا

    ✦14

    And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]

    അവന്നു ഞാന്‍ നല്ല സൌകര്യങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്തു കൊടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു

15. ثُمَّ يَطۡمَعُ أَنۡ أَزِيدَ

    ✦15

    Then he desires that I should add more

    പിന്നെയും ഞാന്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ കൊടുക്കണമെന്ന് അവന്‍ മോഹിക്കുന്നു

16. كَلَّآۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لِأٓيَٰتِنَا عَنِيدٗا

    ✦16

    No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate

    അല്ല, തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അവന്‍ നമ്മുടെ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തങ്ങളോട് മാത്സര്യം കാണിക്കുന്നവനായിരിക്കുന്നു

17. سَأُرۡهِقُهُۥ صَعُودًا

    ✦17

    I will cover him with arduous torment

    പ്രയാസമുള്ള ഒരു കയറ്റം കയറാന്‍ നാം വഴിയെ അവനെ നിര്‍ബന്ധിക്കുന്നതാണ്‌

18. إِنَّهُۥ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ

    ✦18

    Indeed, he thought and deliberated

    തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അവനൊന്നു ചിന്തിച്ചു, അവനൊന്നു കണക്കാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു

19. فَقُتِلَ كَيۡفَ قَدَّرَ

    ✦19

    So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated

    അതിനാല്‍ അവന്‍ നശിക്കട്ടെ. എങ്ങനെയാണവന്‍ കണക്കാക്കിയത്‌

20. ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيۡفَ قَدَّرَ

    ✦20

    Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated

    വീണ്ടും അവന്‍ നശിക്കട്ടെ, എങ്ങനെയാണവന്‍ കണക്കാക്കിയത്‌

21. ثُمَّ نَظَرَ

    ✦21

    Then he considered [again]

    പിന്നീട് അവനൊന്നു നോക്കി

22. ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ

    ✦22

    Then he frowned and scowled

    പിന്നെ അവന്‍ മുഖം ചുളിക്കുകയും മുഖം കറുപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു

23. ثُمَّ أَدۡبَرَ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ

    ✦23

    Then he turned back and was arrogant

    പിന്നെ അവന്‍ പിന്നോട്ട് മാറുകയും അഹങ്കാരം നടിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു

24. فَقَالَ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحۡرٞ يُؤۡثَرُ

    ✦24

    And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]

    എന്നിട്ടവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു: ഇത് (ആരില്‍ നിന്നോ) ഉദ്ധരിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന മാരണമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നുമല്ല

25. إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا قَوۡلُ ٱلۡبَشَرِ

    ✦25

    This is not but the word of a human being

    ഇത് മനുഷ്യന്‍റെ വാക്കല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നുമല്ല

26. سَأُصۡلِيهِ سَقَرَ

    ✦26

    I will drive him into Saqar

    വഴിയെ ഞാന്‍ അവനെ സഖറില്‍ (നരകത്തില്‍) ഇട്ട് എരിക്കുന്നതാണ്‌

27. وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا سَقَرُ

    ✦27

    And what can make you know what is Saqar

    സഖര്‍ എന്നാല്‍ എന്താണെന്ന് നിനക്കറിയുമോ

28. لَا تُبۡقِي وَلَا تَذَرُ

    ✦28

    It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned]

    അത് ഒന്നും ബാക്കിയാക്കുകയോ വിട്ടുകളയുകയോ ഇല്ല

29. لَوَّاحَةٞ لِّلۡبَشَرِ

    ✦29

    Blackening the skins

    അത് തൊലി കരിച്ച് രൂപം മാറ്റിക്കളയുന്നതാണ്‌

30. عَلَيۡهَا تِسۡعَةَ عَشَرَ

    ✦30

    Over it are nineteen [angels]

    അതിന്‍റെ മേല്‍നോട്ടത്തിന് പത്തൊമ്പത് പേരുണ്ട്‌

31. وَمَا جَعَلۡنَآ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَـٰٓئِكَةٗۖ وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا عِدَّتَهُمۡ إِلَّا فِتۡنَةٗ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِيَسۡتَيۡقِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَيَزۡدَادَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِيمَٰنٗا وَلَا يَرۡتَابَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ وَلِيَقُولَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٞ وَٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا مَثَلٗاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهۡدِي مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَمَا يَعۡلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَۚ وَمَا هِيَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡبَشَرِ

    ✦31

    And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity

    നരകത്തിന്‍റെ മേല്‍നോട്ടക്കാരായി നാം മലക്കുകളെ മാത്രമാണ് നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്‌. അവരുടെ എണ്ണത്തെ നാം സത്യനിഷേധികള്‍ക്ക് ഒരു പരീക്ഷണം മാത്രമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. വേദം നല്‍കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് ദൃഢബോധ്യം വരുവാനും സത്യവിശ്വാസികള്‍ക്ക് വിശ്വാസം വര്‍ദ്ധിക്കാനും വേദം നല്‍കപ്പെട്ടവരും സത്യവിശ്വാസികളും സംശയത്തിലകപ്പെടാതിരിക്കാനും അല്ലാഹു എന്തൊരു ഉപമയാണ് ഇതു കൊണ്ട് ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതെന്ന് ഹൃദയങ്ങളില്‍ രോഗമുള്ളവരും സത്യനിഷേധികളും പറയുവാനും വേണ്ടിയത്രെ അത്‌. അപ്രകാരം അല്ലാഹു താന്‍ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നവരെ പിഴപ്പിക്കുകയും, താന്‍ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നവരെ നേര്‍വഴിയിലാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. നിന്‍റെ രക്ഷിതാവിന്‍റെ സൈന്യങ്ങളെ അവനല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരും അറിയുകയില്ല. ഇത് മനുഷ്യര്‍ക്ക് ഒരു ഉല്‍ബോധനമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നുമല്ല

32. كَلَّا وَٱلۡقَمَرِ

    ✦32

    No! By the moon

    നിസ്സംശയം, ചന്ദ്രനെ തന്നെയാണ സത്യം

33. وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذۡ أَدۡبَرَ

    ✦33

    And [by] the night when it departs

    രാത്രി പിന്നിട്ട് പോകുമ്പോള്‍ അതിനെ തന്നെയാണ സത്യം

34. وَٱلصُّبۡحِ إِذَآ أَسۡفَرَ

    ✦34

    And [by] the morning when it brightens

    പ്രഭാതം പുലര്‍ന്നാല്‍ അതു തന്നെയാണ സത്യം

35. إِنَّهَا لَإِحۡدَى ٱلۡكُبَرِ

    ✦35

    Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions]

    തീര്‍ച്ചയായും അത് (നരകം) ഗൌരവമുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളില്‍ ഒന്നാകുന്നു

36. نَذِيرٗا لِّلۡبَشَرِ

    ✦36

    As a warning to humanity

    മനുഷ്യര്‍ക്ക് ഒരു താക്കീതെന്ന നിലയില്‍

37. لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمۡ أَن يَتَقَدَّمَ أَوۡ يَتَأَخَّرَ

    ✦37

    To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind

    അതായത് നിങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് മുന്നോട്ട് പോകുവാനോ, പിന്നോട്ട് വെക്കുവാനോ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്ക്‌

38. كُلُّ نَفۡسِۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ رَهِينَةٌ

    ✦38

    Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained

    ഓരോ വ്യക്തിയും താന്‍ സമ്പാദിച്ചു വെച്ചതിന് പണയപ്പെട്ടവനാകുന്നു

39. إِلَّآ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡيَمِينِ

    ✦39

    Except the companions of the right

    വലതുപക്ഷക്കാരൊഴികെ

40. فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

    ✦40

    [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other

    ചില സ്വര്‍ഗത്തോപ്പുകളിലായിരിക്കും അവര്‍. അവര്‍ അന്വേഷിക്കും

41. عَنِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

    ✦41

    About the criminals

    കുറ്റവാളികളെപ്പറ്റി

42. مَا سَلَكَكُمۡ فِي سَقَرَ

    ✦42

    [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar

    നിങ്ങളെ നരകത്തില്‍ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചത് എന്തൊന്നാണെന്ന്‌

43. قَالُواْ لَمۡ نَكُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصَلِّينَ

    ✦43

    They will say, "We were not of those who prayed

    അവര്‍ (കുറ്റവാളികള്‍) മറുപടി പറയും: ഞങ്ങള്‍ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലായില്ല

44. وَلَمۡ نَكُ نُطۡعِمُ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينَ

    ✦44

    Nor did we used to feed the poor

    ഞങ്ങള്‍ അഗതിക്ക് ആഹാരം നല്‍കുമായിരുന്നില്ല

45. وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ ٱلۡخَآئِضِينَ

    ✦45

    And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it]

    തോന്നിവാസത്തില്‍ മുഴുകുന്നവരുടെ കൂടെ ഞങ്ങളും മുഴുകുമായിരുന്നു

46. وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

    ✦46

    And we used to deny the Day of Recompense

    പ്രതിഫലത്തിന്‍റെ നാളിനെ ഞങ്ങള്‍ നിഷേധിച്ചു കളയുമായിരുന്നു

47. حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰنَا ٱلۡيَقِينُ

    ✦47

    Until there came to us the certainty

    അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കെ ആ ഉറപ്പായ മരണം ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വന്നെത്തി

48. فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمۡ شَفَٰعَةُ ٱلشَّـٰفِعِينَ

    ✦48

    So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors

    ഇനി അവര്‍ക്ക് ശുപാര്‍ശക്കാരുടെ ശുപാര്‍ശയൊന്നും പ്രയോജനപ്പെടുകയില്ല

49. فَمَا لَهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلتَّذۡكِرَةِ مُعۡرِضِينَ

    ✦49

    Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away

    എന്നിരിക്കെ അവര്‍ക്കെന്തു പറ്റി? അവര്‍ ഉല്‍ബോധനത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് തിരിഞ്ഞുകളയുന്നവരായിരിക്കുന്നു

50. كَأَنَّهُمۡ حُمُرٞ مُّسۡتَنفِرَةٞ

    ✦50

    As if they were alarmed donkeys

    അവര്‍ വിറളി പിടിച്ച കഴുതകളെപ്പോലിരിക്കുന്നു

51. فَرَّتۡ مِن قَسۡوَرَةِۭ

    ✦51

    Fleeing from a lion

    സിംഹത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് ഓടിരക്ഷപ്പെടുന്ന (കഴുതകള്‍)

52. بَلۡ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمۡرِيٕٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ أَن يُؤۡتَىٰ صُحُفٗا مُّنَشَّرَةٗ

    ✦52

    Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about

    അല്ല, അവരില്‍ ഓരോരുത്തരും ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു; തനിക്ക് അല്ലാഹുവിങ്കല്‍ നിന്ന് നിവര്‍ത്തിയ ഏടുകള്‍ നല്‍കപ്പെടണമെന്ന്‌

53. كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ

    ✦53

    No! But they do not fear the Hereafter

    അല്ല; പക്ഷെ, അവര്‍ പരലോകത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നില്ല

54. كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذۡكِرَةٞ

    ✦54

    No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder

    അല്ല; തീര്‍ച്ചയായും ഇത് ഒരു ഉല്‍ബോധനമാകുന്നു

55. فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ

    ✦55

    Then whoever wills will remember it

    ആകയാല്‍ ആര്‍ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നുവോ അവരത് ഓര്‍മിച്ചു കൊള്ളട്ടെ

56. وَمَا يَذۡكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ هُوَ أَهۡلُ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ وَأَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِ

    ✦56

    And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness

    അല്ലാഹു ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിലല്ലാതെ അവര്‍ ഓര്‍മിക്കുന്നതല്ല. അവനാകുന്നു ഭക്തിക്കവകാശപ്പെട്ടവന്‍; പാപമോചനത്തിന് അവകാശപ്പെട്ടവന്‍
